Segment 1

To be eligible for Segment 1 Driver Education, you must be at least 14 years and 8 months old by the first scheduled day of class, and you may not turn 18 years old on or before the session end date. All requirements must be completed to comply with the State of Michigan guidelines by the designated session end date of the class.

1. 26 hours of classroom instruction (13 days of classes)

2. 6 hours behind the wheel 

   A. 4 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction from our certified instructors

   B. 2 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction in an obstacle course (range) with certified instructor supervision

3. 4 hours of observation of another student

4. Pass the end-of-class test
